How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
Tattoo removal treatments use laser to break up ink particles in the skin. After the laser treatment, your body will flush the broken-up pigment through the lymphatic system. Treatments can occur every 8-10 weeks depending on how quickly the area heals. Blacks and darker color inks are easier to remove. Treatment is not generally successful on lighter colored (sky blue, mint green, etc.) inks.
Important Pre-Treatment Instructions for Laser Tattoo Removal
- Avoid sun exposure, including tanning beds, for AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to and after your laser treatments
- Avoid medications such as Motrin, Aleve, Ibuprofen, and Aspirin for 3-7 days prior to your treatment to reduce post treatment bleeding
